After playing Mass Effect 3 a few times now, I just couldn't hold back a fanart any longer. I wanted to picture my wish, if there were any new Mass Effect entry after this one. What I would like? A male Asari. The son of Shepard. How could that have happened? Only if you get the gift from Liara at the end of ME3. Why a son? The Asari only have girls, right? Since the Asari's melding is mental and Shepard's mind has been affect by the Prothean artifact, maybe it could have had an unexpected affect? This is just joyfull speculation and fun on the drawing page. I'd love a male Asari Shepard, who has taken after his mother and is an intergalactic Indy looking for ruins of forgotten civilisations but has the headstrong and determination of his father.

I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

I always kind of thought: if asari are all female and do the melding that still means they are all pretty much clones of one another. There is a species of lizard all the members of the species are basically identical. So Theory asari used to have males in there species but after the Protheans were done genetically engineering the asari males were no longer needed.
but anyway back to your picture: I think the Asari would be so confused. and not to focus on this but what kind of kids would he reproduce. . . but fun concept.

im not a biologist. I just have weird knowledge about things. but I would say probably. or the melding could do other things that are unheard of for us here on earth. ^_^

You actually do point out a valid fact that if all Asari are just random recombinations of their own DNA, there really isn't room for much mutation/evolution, is there? It's close to cloning... and certainly seems to limit genetic diversity!
